Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician to join our surgical team at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a key member of our hospital team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our board-certified specialists in delivering advanced medical services.

• Anesthesia induction, maintenance, monitoring, and recovery of patients, as well as cleaning and maintaining anesthesia equipment.
• Surgery - assisting doctors, cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining all surgical instruments and OR equipment.
• In-Patient Medical Care - administering medications, assisting with treatments, diagnostics, and monitoring, placing IV catheters, drawing blood, running lab tests, administering IV fluids, cleaning, feeding, and walking patients as needed.
• Radiology - positioning patients and taking radiographs, submitting for consults.
• Laboratory duties - collecting, preparing, and running or submitting samples for requested tests; reading and recording results when indicated (fecal, urinalysis, ear cytology, etc.) when requested by doctor.
• Preparing invoices, discharge instructions, and client information packs.
• Client communication - providing patient updates, discharge instructions, and follow-up for certain hospital patients.
• Client medical demonstrations/education.
• Technician appointments - blood draws for therapeutic monitoring/screening tests, bandage changes, post-op checks, and suture removals.
• Clinic technician - assisting doctors with outpatient appointments, preparing, restocking, cleaning exam rooms, checking patients in and out, taking history and vitals, inputting data into patient medical records, ensuring smooth and timely flow of outpatient appointments from check-in to discharge.
• Assisting in training and mentoring new team members, interns/students, and volunteers.
• Assisting with inventory control, ordering, unpacking, restocking drug and medical supplies.
• Preparing prescriptions, dispensed medications, and medication refills.
• Calculating drug dosages and fluid drip rates accurately.
• Contributing to hospital cleaning.
• Voluntary participation in Surgery ON call.

• Tuition reimbursement and scholarships toward an Accredited Veterinary Technology Program.
• Pay Range: $18-$26/hour dependent on experience.
• Shift Differential: After 10 pm, $1.50/hour differential pay.
• Weekend differential (Friday 6pm - Monday 8am) includes a $1.50/hr shift differential.
• Overnight differential (10pm - 8am) is $1.25/hr shift differential.
