Nurse Manager

UVA Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Thoracic Program and Transplant Clinic Manager to join our state-of-the-art Comprehensive Transplant Center. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless care for our adult and pediatric transplant patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and support the day-to-day operations of assigned patient care areas.
- Supervise all nurses and support staff, including Registered Nurses, Patient Care Assistants, and Technicians.
- Oversee the preparation of schedules and adjust according to patient flow.
- Accurately forecast and manage budget for the unit, ensuring expenditures are within budget.
- Develop programs to address continuous quality improvement, system enhancement, and streamlined processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements specific to the unit supervised.
- Provide the highest quality nursing care to patients and their families.
- Develop and manage partnerships with clinicians, physicians, and administrative counterparts to achieve common goals.
- Promote integration of multidisciplinary work groups and manage recruitment, performance, team member engagement, and retention activities.
- Implement the UVA shared governance nursing model at the unit level, ensuring shared decision-making that affects nursing practice, quality improvement, professional development, and research.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program, with a Master's degree in a related field within 5 years of hire.
- At least 3 years of progressively more responsible experience as a registered nurse in a patient care environment.
- License to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia, with American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification.
- Valid Virginia Driver's license for managers with responsibility for operations in multiple locations.
- Master's Degree
- Previous experience in transplant services or a related healthcare setting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement
