Job Summary:The Operating Room Registered Nurse RN is responsible for coordinating patient care delivery by the healthcare team. Using the nursing process, you will assess patients, identify nursing diagnoses, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate patient responses. Your goal will be to promote safe passage for patients through the healthcare encounter without any preventable complications or delays.
Essential Functions:- Clinical Judgment: Conduct accurate clinical assessments according to practice standards, identify and prioritize patient and family needs, develop, implement, and evaluate the nursing plan of care, and modify the plan to meet clinical outcomes.
- Clinical Inquiry: Systematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, including nursing sensitive indicators, and participate in quality/performance improvement initiatives.
- Caring Practices: Create an attentive, helpful, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff, develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families, and maintain appropriate boundaries.
- Response to Diversity: Recognize, appreciate, and incorporate a patient's and family's unique differences into an individualized plan of care.
- Advocacy and Moral Agency: Preserve and protect the confidentiality, autonomy, dignity, and rights of patients and families, and represent their concerns.
- Facilitation of Learning: Facilitate learning for patients and families, nursing staff, other members of the healthcare team, and community, integrating appropriate education throughout the continuum of care.
- Partnership: Work collaboratively and interdependently with colleagues and community to develop and implement an integrated plan of care.
- Systems Thinking: Use strategies and available resources for problem-solving for patients, family, and staff, and recognize that resources are limited and consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in planning and delivering patient care.
- Professionalism: Improve nursing practice and the work environment through participating in mutual governance and decision-making processes, and meaningfully recognizing the contributions of others.
- Graduate of an Accredited Program
- 2+ years of Orthopedic experience in the US
- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Registered Nurse RN
- Basic Life Support BLS: BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer
- Immediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits
