Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pre-K Assistant Teacher to join our team at Kiddie Academy of College Station. As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for young children to learn and grow.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and implementing engaging lesson plans and activities that promote physical, social, and emotional growth in children.
  • Supervise and care for children during all activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Counsel children when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise, providing guidance and support to help them overcome challenges.
  • Develop and prepare instructional aids and materials to enhance the learning experience for children.
  • Ensure the classroom environment is clean, organized, and safe, maintaining high standards of hygiene and appearance.
  • Assist with meal times, clean-up, and other daily tasks to maintain a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including daily notes, student accident reports, and attendance reports, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as requested, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or academy management, contributing to the overall success of the team.
Qualifications
  • Meet all state requirements for this position, including education and certification.
  • Be able to work full-time, Monday-Friday, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be at least 18 years old, or be in a high school work-study program related to child care.
  • Demonstrate a pleasant and friendly demeanor, with an outgoing personality and a passion for working with children.
  • Be highly professional and dependable, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to lift no less than 40 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday, to at least waist high.
  • Classroom teaching experience in an accredited early childhood facility is a plus.
