Job Summary:

As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at SSM Health, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care by performing diagnostic ultrasound imaging studies. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of medical imaging.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, small parts, and gynecological procedures, under the supervision of a radiologist according to guidelines set forth by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
  • Clearly communicate and explain the exam procedure to patients and any family members present to ensure understanding and patient consent for the test.
  • Assess patient medical, cardiac, or vascular status by taking a history before the exam.
  • Assemble a chart with patient information and enter information into the current PACS System or Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Record all imaging studies (digital archive) for the Medical Director or his/her designee to review and interpret.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved AS program in Medical Sonography or scheduled to graduate from an approved BS program with RDMS (AS) certification.
  • 1 year of experience preferred but new grads welcome.
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) certification.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Abdomen (AB) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification.
