Core Responsibilities:

  1. Cost Evaluation:
    • Create detailed and precise cost evaluations for a range of construction projects, encompassing residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure initiatives.
    • Examine project blueprints, specifications, and other relevant documents to generate time, cost, materials, and labor assessments.
    • Spot potential cost-saving avenues, risks, and project intricacies.
    • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to clarify project scope and ensure all requirements are incorporated into the evaluations.
  2. Bid Coordination:
    • Oversee the preparation and submission of competitive bids and proposals.
    • Assess and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids, ensuring they meet project specifications and budget constraints.
    • Compile bid comparison documents and recommend optimal choices based on cost, quality, and dependability.
  3. Leadership and Development:
    • Guide and mentor junior estimators, offering support and direction in their career growth.
    • Effectively delegate tasks to ensure the estimating team adheres to deadlines and maintains high accuracy standards.
  4. Market Insights:
    • Remain updated on prevailing market trends, material pricing, and labor costs.
    • Conduct site evaluations and participate in pre-bid meetings to gather essential information for accurate assessments.
    • Maintain and refresh a database of historical data, unit costs, and productivity metrics for future reference.
  5. Client Relations:
    • Engage with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to address discrepancies and clarify project requirements.
    • Establish and nurture strong connections with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry collaborators.
    • Present evaluations and bid proposals to clients and negotiate terms as necessary.
  6. Process Enhancement:
    • Continuously assess and refine estimating processes and tools to boost efficiency and precision.
    • Implement best practices in estimating and cost management.
Qualifications:
5-10 years of relevant experience
Experience in commercial construction is essential.
