Key Responsibilities:


Drive and execute innovative R&D initiatives focused on the creation of MEMS and NEMS devices, sensors, and systems tailored for next-generation applications in aerospace, automotive, defense, and various commercial sectors.

Engage in theoretical analysis, design, simulation, fabrication, and evaluation of sophisticated MEMS and integrated sensor technologies. A collaborative mindset and exceptional communication abilities are essential for success in our dynamic team environment.

Essential Qualifications:


Preferred expertise includes multi-physics simulation, CAD design and layout, micro/nano fabrication, as well as electrical and/or optical testing of MEMS sensors and actuators. Experience in prototyping and integrating interface electronics with MEMS is advantageous. Candidates should have a record of scientific publications and experience delivering technical presentations. Familiarity with government proposal writing is also a plus.
Knowledge of innovative materials for MEMS and NEMS sensor transduction mechanisms is sought after.

Expertise in sensitivity and noise analysis, alongside performance evaluation of inertial sensors and ultra-stable frequency standards, including their associated drive and control electronics, is desirable.

Understanding energy dissipation mechanisms in MEMS and NEMS devices is beneficial.

Specific knowledge in the physics, design, fabrication, and evaluation of electrostatic, piezoelectric, magnetic, opto-mechanical, photonic, and/or RF MEMS devices is also preferred.


Educational Requirements:
A Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field is required.

Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be capable of safely working in a MEMS microfabrication cleanroom and electronics testing facility.

Special Considerations:
U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status is mandatory. Occasional travel may be necessary.

Compensation:
The salary range for this full-time role is competitive, with a base salary between $128,900 - $157,900, plus bonuses and benefits. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as work location, skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Specifics will be discussed during the hiring process. Please note that the stated compensation reflects base salary only, excluding potential bonuses or benefits.
