Job Summary:Geisinger's Heart and Vascular Institute is seeking a skilled healthcare professional to join our team in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. As a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth and success of our cardiology practice.
Job Duties:- Collaborate with physicians to assess, diagnose, and treat adult cardiac patients referred to the cardiology service.
- Demonstrate autonomy through patient evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
- Manage and assist in the smooth, efficient operations of the inpatient cardiology patient, outpatient cardiology clinic, cardiac labs, and outreach cardiology clinics.
- Order testing as deemed necessary and remain proficient in interpreting results and prescribing appropriate medication regimens within the scope of practice of the nurse practitioner.
- Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA.
- The successful Physician Assistant must be a graduate of a ARC-approved physician assistant program, eligible or certified by the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants, and eligible or certified by the State Board of Medicine.
