Position Overview:
- Provides advanced nursing and specialized medical services to clients dealing with Mental Health and Addiction issues, adhering to established protocols.
Qualifications Required:
- Registered Nurse with a Master's Degree in a clinical field or completion of a recognized ARNP training program.
- Current licensure as an ARNP in the State.
- Experience or training in Mental Health and Addictions, with Psychiatric Mental Health Certification preferred.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working with diverse populations, particularly adults and the elderly in Mental Health/Addiction settings.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Documented experience in delivering the services outlined.
- Experience with the general psychiatric population is preferred.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conducts evaluations for medical therapy, prescribes medications when appropriate, and provides educational services tailored to client needs.
- Reviews and approves treatment plans and related documents as required.
- Initiates involuntary treatment documents and coordinates admissions to inpatient facilities when necessary.
- Performs psychiatric evaluations and prepares required reports for clients.
- Consults with staff on client diagnoses, treatment options, and program development.
- Provides training on disease prevention and health maintenance to staff and clients.
- Reviews medical histories and diagnostic reports, referring clients for follow-up care as needed.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to confirm or rule out diagnoses.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive client care.
Work Environment:
- Operates in a well-lit environment, engaging with clients and staff in a behavioral health setting.
