Job SummaryThe Building Mechanic will provide maintenance and repair services for critical infrastructure systems, including mechanical, electrical, and environmental systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, as well as experience with building automation systems. This is a hands-on role that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of campus facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and environmental systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with building automation systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and diagrams.
  • Utilize hand and power tools to perform tasks such as carpentry, painting, and cable pulls.
  • Work effectively in a team environment to ensure the smooth operation of campus facilities.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working at heights.
  • Excellent work ethic and ability to work independently.
  • Experience with hand and power tools, as well as building automation systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, supervision, peers, and customers.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in commercial office facilities support operations.
  • PC literate and experience with Microsoft Office tools and AutoCAD.
  • Prior experience with shift work and ability to work rotating shifts.
  • Electrical, mechanical, wiring, or automated building system monitoring experience.
