Key Responsibilities:
  • Animal Care and Treatment: Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Diagnostic Excellence: Operate diagnostic equipment, collect samples, and interpret results to ensure accurate diagnoses.
  • Patient Advocacy: Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options to promote optimal health outcomes.
  • Surgical Expertise: Perform surgery as needed, while prescribing medication and providing counsel around end-of-life care.
  • Maintenance and Compliance: Maintain patients' medical records and ensure adherence to veterinary ethics and relevant regulations.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Licensure and Certification: Appropriate state licensure and eligibility for DEA/BNDD registration.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating professional courtesy at all times.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds, with assistance available for heavier loads.
