Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Associate Director of Behavioral Health to join our team at the Puerto Rican Cultural Center. This is a full-time position that requires a Master's degree in clinical mental health counseling or a related field, as well as current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Illinois.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide behavioral health and substance abuse clinical programming, including individual and group therapy services.
  • Supervise and mentor clinical and substance abuse counselors, interns, and behavioral case managers.
  • Develop and implement new programs and in-services as needed.
  • Collaborate with other Public Health Initiatives Programs to develop and implement programs that reflect the mission and statement of the Puerto Rican Cultural Center.
  • Provide mental health assessment, short-term and some long-term substance abuse, and mental health counseling services to young and older adults with mental health challenges.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in clinical mental health counseling or a related field.
  • Current licensure as a LCPC or LCSW in the state of Illinois.
  • Knowledge of 12-step recovery process and previous experience providing substance use services.
  • Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention, individual and group therapy.
  • Prior knowledge and experience with clients who are HIV+, diverse communities, particularly the LGBTQ+ community.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred.
  • CADC (Certificate in Alcohol and Drug Counseling) certification.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

This position requires compliance with all of The PRCC's written standards, including its Standards of Conduct, all policies and procedures, and Regulatory Compliance requirements. Compliance will be considered as part of the regular performance evaluation.

This position involves no regular exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, and tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues are not a condition of employment.
