Job Summary:

This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for customers. As a Cashier Associate, you will be the face of SpartanNash, interacting with customers, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate cash registers and electronic scanners to accurately process customer transactions
• Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the checkout area and surrounding areas
• Process financial transactions, including cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment
• Assist with stocking and merchandising of products, including newspapers, periodicals, and other items
• Understand and comply with company policies and procedures, including security, cash handling, and product handling
• Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and management to ensure a positive and efficient shopping experience

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One year of prior retail or customer service experience preferred
• Good verbal communication skills and ability to interact politely and effectively with customers
• Good customer service and organizational skills, with attention to detail
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required
