Systems Engineering Specialist

Position Overview
You will act as the Division System Engineer, ensuring the technical excellence of the division's engineering outputs and the methodologies employed in their creation and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present technical documentation and lead investigations to rectify deficiencies.
- Guide station personnel in developing effective and innovative processes for issue resolution and execution at the Division level, particularly concerning the development, integration, certification, and operational engineering of the Aegis Combat System.
- Adapt work operations to accommodate urgent or evolving program or production needs.
- Analyze organizational and operational challenges, formulating timely and cost-effective solutions.
Collaboration and Mentorship
- Collaborate closely with System Engineers, Supportability Integrators, Test and Evaluation Leads, and cross-department management to address all facets of systems safety, effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
- Mentor division engineering staff, contributing to individual development plans and performance evaluations.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and deemed suitable for federal employment.
- Participation in the direct deposit pay program is mandatory.
- New hires to the Department of the Navy must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
Security Clearance
- Candidates must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to starting the position. Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or termination.
Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to the ND-04 pay band (GS-12/13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
- Specialized experience should demonstrate proficiency as a professional Engineer overseeing consultative services in the design, development, or support of digital systems, networks, and computer programs related to shipboard Combat Systems.
Education
- Applicants must possess a professional engineering degree from an accredited institution or hold current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE).

- Candidates will be assessed based on qualifications, including competencies in developing others, engineering project management, managing human resources, partnering, problem-solving, and systems engineering.
