This role involves a competitive pay rate, with varying shifts throughout the week. The Operating Room Technician plays a crucial role in the surgical team, ensuring that the operating room is prepared and that all necessary instruments and supplies are available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and organize the surgical environment prior to procedures.
  • Communicate effectively regarding any special instruments or techniques needed for surgeries.
  • Maintain and care for surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Understand and follow the classification system for surgical procedures.
  • Provide patient care in accordance with established protocols.
  • Document any changes in procedures accurately.
  • Participate in quality monitoring and improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct pain assessments and respond appropriately.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the department.
Qualifications

Certification as an Unlicensed Assistive Person - Technician (UAP/T) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is required. A certification as a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also necessary within a specified timeframe.
