The Harper College Custodian - Part Time will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of College facilities. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide custodial services for Harper College facilities
  • Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas
  • Perform custodial duties, including vacuuming, sweeping, dust mopping, and wet mopping floors
  • Replenish restroom supplies, empty and clean waste receptacles, and clean whiteboards, windows, and walls
  • Operate floor machines, hand tools, extension ladders, and other equipment
  • Maintain custodial supplies and equipment

Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels. The employee may be exposed to dust, cleaning solvents, and other chemicals. Personal protective equipment may be required.

Supervision

This role will be supervised by the Custodial Foreman. The employee will receive daily instructions on work to be performed and will be expected to work independently.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Six months of janitorial/housekeeping/custodial experience
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
  • Valid Illinois Driver's License
