POSITION: Accounting Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Bachelor's degree in business management, accounting, finance, marketing, management information systems, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a role where business acumen was utilized to advise and support the management of the organization.
  3. Professional experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
  4. Strong ability to prioritize daily tasks and meet deadlines.
  5. Proficient in utilizing a variety of technology platforms and systems such as financial management, website development, database management, report processing, and visual presentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Publisher, Adobe products, Microsoft PowerPoint).
  6. Demonstrated experience in financial forecasting and risk assessment.
  7. Excellent communication skills required - including written, verbal, and conflict resolution proficiency.
  8. Any additional qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Board.
REPORTS TO: Superintendent, Finance Director, or Designee

JOB GOAL: Oversee accounting operations for the Operations and Finance Division by developing, implementing, and maintaining robust financial controls to ensure compliance with all relevant accounting laws and best practices.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Analyze various data for forecasting metrics to be utilized for presentations and organizational communication.
  2. Assist with financial and program-specific projects to support decision-making processes.
  3. Maintain relationships with various departments to develop an accurate forecasting model.
  4. Prepare multiple phases of the budget documentation and assist with the budgeting process.
  5. Support the Superintendent's office on various policies and procedures for appropriateness and effectiveness, providing recommendations for improvement.
  6. Monitor external budget activities daily to ensure compliance and adherence to allocated budget values.
  7. Possess a working knowledge of all financial processes within the Operations and Finance Division and provide support to ensure continuity of financial operations.
  8. Interpret data and analyze information to develop and present financial models and budgetary reports.
  9. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes and make modifications as necessary.
  10. Assist with entering various entries such as accruals, expense, and revenue entries.
  11. Respond to requests for financial data, creating data and input on various software platforms for detailed information for multiple federal and state agency reports and assist with audit documentation.
  12. Contribute to the development of the annual operating and capital budgets and review/analyze budgets throughout the year.
  13. Prioritize, plan, and organize work according to standard procedures as well as financial schedules and calendars as directed.
  14. Operate software systems at an advanced skill level, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and MUNIS Financial and HR/Payroll System.
  15. Maintain a working knowledge of current Board policies, regulations, and laws relevant to the position.
  16. Assume additional functions as may be determined.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Terms set forth in the collective bargaining agreement. A salaried twelve-month position with a core day of seven hours per day. Work may be required outside of regular business hours for management of financial systems and posting of transactions. Annual salary of $90,200.00.
EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Non-Certified Staff.
