Job Summary

FKC - Soldotna is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Specialist to join our dialysis team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for patient care and a commitment to delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Care for and monitor patients before, during, and post dialysis treatment.
  • Prepare dialysis machines and their components for treatment.
  • Transport patients, record vital signs, and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Explain the dialysis procedure and operation of the hemodialysis machine to patients.
  • Inspect and clean the access area (fistula, graft, or catheter).
  • Ensure equipment settings conform to safety standards.
  • Start patient treatment according to physician orders.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and equipment malfunctions.
  • Assist with inventory and supply management.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 months of dialysis, phlebotomy, or CNA/PCA experience preferred.
  • CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to distinguish primary colors.
  • Successful completion of our dialysis training program within 12 weeks of hire.
  • Must meet CMS-approved national certification requirements within the CMS timeline.
  • Must be flexible to work various shifts.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and basic computer skills.
Physical Job Requirements:
  • Frequent long periods of standing, bending, stooping, walking, and sitting.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
