We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Restaurant Host/Hostess to join our team at the Loews Kansas City Hotel. As a Restaurant Host/Hostess, you will be responsible for ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service and have a memorable dining experience.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Supervise restaurant activities in the absence of the Manager, ensuring seamless service delivery and maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness.
- Control the reservation book, accepting reservations and entering them accurately into the record, ensuring efficient table management and minimizing wait times.
- Maintain accurate guest history files, using this information to enhance the repeat guest experience and build loyalty.
- Assign workstations and pre-meal side work, inspecting the dining room and service areas to ensure completion of all tasks prior to the start of the meal period.
- Maintain accurate guest records, including arrival, cover count, seat assignment, turnover, and availability.
- Inspect menus to ensure cleanliness and acceptability, maintaining high standards of presentation and quality.
- Greet guests in a polite and professional manner, determining their needs and verifying table availability.
- Assign guests to appropriate tables, guiding them to their seats and presenting menus.
- Ensure the removal of unnecessary place settings at occupied tables, notifying servers of guest seating and communicating any special needs or requests.
- Inspect the dining room appearance constantly, assigning corrections to deficiencies to the appropriate team member.
- Monitor dining room activity, assisting servers and assistants as needed to ensure performance to standard.
- Assign post-meal side work, inspecting the dining room and service areas to ensure completion of all tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
**Requirements**

- Recycle whenever possible, minimizing waste and promoting sustainability.
