**Key Responsibilities**

  • Supervise restaurant activities in the absence of the Manager, ensuring seamless service delivery and maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness.
  • Control the reservation book, accepting reservations and entering them accurately into the record, ensuring efficient table management and minimizing wait times.
  • Maintain accurate guest history files, using this information to enhance the repeat guest experience and build loyalty.
  • Assign workstations and pre-meal side work, inspecting the dining room and service areas to ensure completion of all tasks prior to the start of the meal period.
  • Maintain accurate guest records, including arrival, cover count, seat assignment, turnover, and availability.
  • Inspect menus to ensure cleanliness and acceptability, maintaining high standards of presentation and quality.
  • Greet guests in a polite and professional manner, determining their needs and verifying table availability.
  • Assign guests to appropriate tables, guiding them to their seats and presenting menus.
  • Ensure the removal of unnecessary place settings at occupied tables, notifying servers of guest seating and communicating any special needs or requests.
  • Inspect the dining room appearance constantly, assigning corrections to deficiencies to the appropriate team member.
  • Monitor dining room activity, assisting servers and assistants as needed to ensure performance to standard.
  • Assign post-meal side work, inspecting the dining room and service areas to ensure completion of all tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

**Requirements**

  • Promote and apply teamwork skills at all times, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve exceptional service standards.
  • Notify management promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significance, ensuring that issues are addressed promptly and efficiently.
  • Be polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management, and fellow team members, maintaining a positive and respectful attitude at all times.
  • Execute emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards, ensuring the safety and well-being of guests and colleagues.
  • Comply with required safety regulations and procedures, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Attend hotel meetings and training sessions, staying up-to-date with hotel information and changes.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work areas, adhering to hotel standards and policies.
  • Comply with hotel standards, policies, and rules, including uniform and grooming standards.
  • Recycle whenever possible, minimizing waste and promoting sustainability.
