  • Participate in departmental meetings and in-service training programs.
  • Mentor students, new staff, and volunteers, sharing knowledge and experience.
  • Stay actively involved in departmental and organizational initiatives.
  • Provide constructive feedback to management.
  • Assist in departmental planning, staff development, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Contribute to departmental efficiency by managing individual responsibilities and reporting significant changes in patient volume that may necessitate staffing adjustments.

DCH Standards Compliance:

  • Maintain performance metrics, patient satisfaction, and financial benchmarks as outlined in evaluations.
  • Adhere to compliance protocols as detailed in the Employee Handbook.
  • Follow DCH Behavioral Standards to foster positive relationships with patients, families, colleagues, and oneself.

  • Comply with all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must possess a current PTA/OTA license in Alabama, maintaining good standing with the licensing authority. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is essential. BLS certification is mandatory.

  • Ability to analyze patient data to identify needs or treatment goals.
  • Proficient in entering patient or treatment information into computer systems.
  • Collaborate effectively with others to plan or deliver treatment.
  • Normal vision and hearing, or corrected to normal standards, are required.

  • Capacity to endure prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing.
  • Ability to exert significant physical effort, including pushing, pulling, bending, climbing, lifting, and walking.
  • Exposure to bodily fluids, diseases, infections, and hazardous materials may occur; appropriate safety equipment may be required.

Physical Requirements

  • Physical activities include: communication, hearing, bending, twisting, walking, running, kneeling, crouching, stooping, crawling, climbing, balancing, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, repetitive motions, standing, and using hands for handling or controlling objects.
  • PT/OT Requirements:
  • Heavy work involving exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal limits.
  • Physical presence onsite is essential for this role.
