Surgical Orderly

At Sierra View Local Health Care District, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Orderly to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Surgical Orderly will be responsible for transporting patients to and from various hospital units, assisting with case equipment needs, and performing terminal cleaning of operating rooms and surgical units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transport patients to and from various hospital units, including Med/Surg, X-ray, and discharge.
• Communicate with clinical supervisors and circulating nurses to ensure smooth patient care.
• Assist with case equipment needs, including moving procedure equipment, monitor carts, and positioning equipment.
• Perform terminal cleaning of operating rooms and surgical units, following established policies and procedures.
• Arrange operating room furniture and equipment according to needs for surgical procedures.

Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within orientation process.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak English.
• Basic computer skills.

Working Conditions:

The Surgical Orderly will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, with variable shifts and occasional call-backs. The ability to work well under pressure and meet multiple deadlines is essential.
