About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team at Wabtec Corporation. As a Mechanical Assembler, you will play a critical role in producing highly engineered, custom-built mobile material handling machinery for rail-related markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble fabricated parts, components, or units at floor stations
  • Test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications
  • Use hand and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications
  • Identify units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repair as necessary
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a custom build shop preferred
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Ability to operate a computer to read and input data
  • Ability to operate hand tools and read measuring devices
  • Ability to read and interpret 3D prints/schematics to complete standard work
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, bend, work underneath equipment, reach above shoulders, and climb
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance
