Lead Controls Engineer for Industrial Automation

We are seeking an experienced Lead Controls Engineer to join our team at Oath Services in Addison, TX. This position offers a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description:

This is a leadership role that requires a strong understanding of automation solutions and control systems. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science, with over 8 years of experience in the field. They should have in-depth knowledge of Emerson DeltaV platform, PLC hardware/software platforms such as Rockwell Automation, Siemens, and Modicon, and HMI/SCADA hardware/software platforms such as Servers, VM's, Networks, Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk and Plant Pax, Aveva System Platform and Edge, Inductive Automation Ignition, GE iFIX, Siemens Winn CC and TI Portal.

The Lead Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, detailing, and implementing control systems for industrial processes and machinery. They will work closely with customers to understand their requirements and develop innovative automation solutions that meet their needs. This involves conceptualizing, detailing, and implementing control system architectures, selecting components, detailing schematic diagrams and system documentation, programming controllers, programming process visualization, developing databases for archiving/displaying historical system data, and implementing/commissioning the control system at the client's facility.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop innovative automation solutions and design standards either self-directed or as a leader of a team.
  • Design, detail, and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their requirements and develop automation solutions that meet their needs.
  • Conceptualize, detail, and implement control system architectures.
  • Select components for control systems.
  • Detailed schematic diagrams and system documentation.
  • Program controllers.
  • Program process visualization.
  • Develop databases for archiving/displaying historical system data.
  • Implement/commission the control system at the client's facility.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Over 8 years of experience in the field.
  • In-depth knowledge of Emerson DeltaV platform.
  • Experience in PLC-5 to ControlLogix conversions.
  • In-depth understanding of PLC hardware/software platforms such as Rockwell Automation, Siemens, and Modicon.
  • In-depth understanding of HMI/SCADA hardware/software platforms such as Servers, VM's, Networks, Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk and Plant Pax, Aveva System Platform and Edge, Inductive Automation Ignition, GE iFIX, Siemens Winn CC and TI Portal.
  • Understanding of DCS hardware/software platforms such as Emerson DeltaV or similar.
  • Project Management experience with a PMP certification a plus.
  • Understanding of Batch/Recipes, OEE, MES, and ERP systems.
  • Experience in industries such as Semiconductor, Life Sciences, Building Automation, Food and Beverage, Water Treatment, and general manufacturing.
  • Experience in the design of electrical schematics, and control panels including power distribution under 480VAC, and associated NEC references desired.
  • Experience with AutoCAD is also desired.
  • Experience leading a team of engineers/technicians to provide control system solutions.
  • Experience mentoring less experienced engineers.
  • Professional references, preferably one from each of the following: a subordinate, a peer, and a manager.
