Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Law Enforcement Officer to join our team at the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. As a Law Enforcement Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining public safety and enforcing laws and regulations within our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct patrols of assigned areas to ensure public safety and prevent crime.
  • Investigate and document motor vehicle collisions and criminal offenses.
  • Prepare arrest cases and testify in court as a witness when called.
  • Locate and apprehend individuals on warrants, transport prisoners, and escort funeral processes, parades, officials, and oversized vehicles.
  • Attend department meetings, training courses, and conferences to stay up-to-date on best practices and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to provide comprehensive services to our community.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions on the street, such as obstructions, debris, icy bridges, high water, damage to pavement, and inadequate or damaged traffic control devices.
  • Inform supervisors of matters of significance in their area of patrol.
Requirements
  • Must complete the Law Enforcement Academy.
  • Pass a physical fitness test.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
  • Use law enforcement communication, law enforcement software, and equipment.
  • Qualify yearly with department firearms.
  • Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in high-stress and conflict situations.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make logical decisions.
  • Work outside normal hours and be exposed to the elements.
