Function Overview: The Credit Risk Review department is dedicated to the independent evaluation of credit quality and the assessment of credit risk management effectiveness. This function provides essential oversight to executive management regarding all corporate lending activities related to credit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts thorough analyses of credit quality, credit administration, and the management processes related to lending and credit risk.
  • May take on the role of Team Leader during Credit Risk Reviews, which includes planning, informing management of upcoming reviews, assigning tasks, and compiling review results.
  • Performs evaluations of complex commercial loans to ensure compliance with established policies and underwriting standards.
  • Oversees independent reviews of consumer lending to ensure adherence to relevant standards.
  • Assesses the quality of commercial and consumer credits, ensuring accurate risk ratings that reflect financial stability and repayment likelihood.
  • Examines all aspects of credit risk management and monitoring.
  • Addresses credit risk issues related to non-traditional activities and corporate vendors.
  • Communicates recommendations for enhancing credit risk management processes to improve overall lending supervision.
  • May assist in supervisory duties within the Credit Risk Review area as needed.
  • Maintains positive working relationships with all employees and demonstrates motivation to work independently while contributing to team success.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as required.
Physical Requirements:
Involves operating a keypad device for a significant portion of the day and requires manual dexterity for typing. Specific vision requirements include close vision for computer work. Accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Educational Background:
A four-year college degree or equivalent is required, preferably in Accounting, Mathematics, or Business. Loan review certification is mandatory, with formal credit training being preferred.

Experience Requirements:
A minimum of five to ten years of specialized training is preferred, with eight years of experience in commercial loan review or a combination of credit analysis and commercial loan review experience being ideal.
