Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Music Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing music programs in our partner schools, working with students, teachers, and staff to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement music programs for students in grades K-12
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate music into the curriculum
  • Provide music instruction to students, including singing, playing instruments, and music theory
  • Assist with school-wide events and functions, such as concerts and assemblies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with school administrators, teachers, and staff
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance music education skills
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Music or a related field
  • 1-3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a public school setting
  • Ability to model quality singing and music instruction
  • Knowledge of music pedagogy practices and curriculum development
  • Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and staff
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Music Education or a related field
  • Certification to teach in the state of New York or another state
  • 3-5 years of experience teaching in New York City Public Schools
  • Singing, conducting, keyboard, guitar, and presentation skills
