We are seeking a skilled SMT Technician to join our team at MER-MAR ELECTRONICS INC. This role is responsible for performing various duties within the SMT assembly area, adhering to established procedures and work instructions.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Precision soldering on Printed Circuit Boards (PCBAs)
  • Interpreting drawings, bills of material, manuals, and other work instructions
  • Working safely to prevent on-the-job injuries, including wearing personal protective equipment such as safety glasses
  • Detecting malfunctions of assembly equipment through visual and audio cues
  • Communicating with Senior Technicians and Quality Control personnel to resolve quality issues
  • Making accurate entries into Travelers, Time Standards, and Work Order Document Packages
  • Maintaining traceability of product
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, candidates with the following experience and certifications will be highly preferred:

  • 2 years' experience soldering electronic components for PCBAs
  • IPC 610 training
  • JEDEC J-STD-001 training
  • Additional IPC standards knowledge is a plus
  • Familiarity with ESD/MSL requirements for components and PCB/PCBAs
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
