Responsibilities:

  • Operate and drive vehicles with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of over 33,000 pounds, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Load and unload freight using appropriate handling equipment, taking care to secure and organize cargo for safe transportation.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure the reliability and safety of our fleet.
  • Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs using both electronic and paper logbooks, accurately recording all trips and activities.
  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules, adapting to changing circumstances and unexpected situations.
  • Communicate effectively with other crew members, clients, and move coordinators to ensure seamless logistics operations.
  • Be reliable, punctual, and available for flexible work schedules, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations, such as traffic, weather conditions, or equipment malfunctions.

Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience as a truck driver, with a strong track record of safe and efficient transportation.
  • Experience with electronic equipment and software, including GPS, AVL units, and CB systems.
  • Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly, with a valid Class A driving license.
  • Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations, including DOT and FMCSA guidelines.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and physically capable of walking up and down several flights of stairs.
  • Experience with an electric lift, hand truck, and pallet jack is preferred.

Compensation:

$27 - $35 hourly
