Role Overview
Under the supervision of the Lead Mechanic, the Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring the maintenance and repair of all vehicles within the Superior Ambulance fleet. This position operates within a dynamic and high-demand environment, handling a diverse range of vehicle makes and models.
Conduct thorough inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems of vehicles and equipment. Perform routine maintenance tasks to enhance vehicle performance and lifespan. Complete all necessary documentation related to vehicle repairs, including parts usage and repair durations. Undertake additional maintenance tasks as required. Communicate necessary repairs or tasks to the management team. Ensure a safe and organized work environment. Fulfill other assigned duties as needed. Required Qualifications
Willingness to work on both gas and diesel engines as required. Proficient understanding of basic electrical components, including switches, relays, and circuits. Must possess personal tools for the job. Demonstrated expertise in vehicle diagnostics and repairs. Experience with emergency lighting and sirens is advantageous. Relevant certifications are considered beneficial. Self-motivated and capable of working independently. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues. Proficient in understanding and following both oral and written instructions in English. Ability to routinely lift and carry items weighing up to 75 lbs and reach overhead.
Work Environment
The Mechanic will regularly engage in verbal communication with team members. The role involves working both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to various environmental elements, automotive fluids, and cleaning agents.
