California State University San Marcos is seeking qualified applicants for a Lecturer Pool in the School of Nursing. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate Psychiatric/Mental Health courses, including Practicum: Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing.
Job Summary:The School of Nursing at California State University San Marcos is accepting applications for a pool of part-time lecturers to teach undergraduate Psychiatric/Mental Health courses. The successful candidate will provide instruction, supervision, and assessment to students in a clinical setting.
Responsibilities:- Teach undergraduate Psychiatric/Mental Health courses, including Practicum: Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing.
- Supervise students in clinical settings, providing guidance and feedback on their performance.
- Develop and implement course syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments.
- Collaborate with clinical agency personnel to arrange site orientations and clinical experiences.
- Prepare clinical experiences at assigned clinical sites prior to student arrival.
- Provide students with appropriate learning experiences, revising clinical assignments as needed.
- Supervise students in successfully completing course requirements, including demonstrating, modeling, and assisting with patient care situations.
- Collaborate with Simulation team as directed during students' simulation/standardized patient experience.
- Maintain professional practice knowledge base and skills needed to instruct learners in contemporary nursing practice for assigned course.
- A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
- BRN Faculty requirement: Psych/Mental Health nursing work experience within the last 5 years.
- State licensure by California Board of Registered Nursing.
- Meet the School of Nursing's requirements regarding current immunizations and CPR licensure.
- Per California State University's Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California.
- A doctorate in Nursing (DNP, PhD, or EdD with emphasis on Nursing Education).
- Experience teaching Psych/Mental Health clinical course.
- Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience. The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
