Job Title: Registered Nurse - Weekends

Sunny Vista, a non-profit skilled nursing facility, is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team on weekends. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading our nursing team on weekends.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining accurate and complete medical records
  • Communicating with physicians and family members regarding patient care
  • Participating in the identification of learning needs for staff and correcting performance
  • Complying with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the facility
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly chart room and medication cart
  • Maintaining confidentiality of information about the facility and individual residents/patients
  • Making rounds with physicians as needed
  • Managing Dr. Call List and following up on items from the prior day
  • Verifying and correcting orders from physicians throughout the shift
  • Creating and auditing lab requisitions ordered and their results
  • Rounding with CNAs at the beginning and end of their shift, as well as throughout the day
  • Monitoring CNA breaks and lunches to ensure they are taken on schedule
  • Checking PCC dashboard for the unit to audit task completion prior to CNA leaving shift
  • Providing care for the whole resident, including passing medications and performing skin/wound treatments as ordered
  • Accurately and promptly documenting all aspects of resident care
  • Reporting significant observations to the DON/ADON
  • Assisting in the evaluation of subordinates
  • Flexible in scheduling and volunteering for overtime as needed
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Colorado
  • One year experience as a RN or LPN in a long-term care facility
  • Ability to organize work for accuracy and promptness
  • Good knowledge of resident care
  • Strong management skills
  • Aware of the Nurse Practice Act and individual responsibility for resident care
  • Ability to bend and stoop, as well as push, pull, and/or lift a minimum of fifty pounds
