Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Substation Physical Engineer to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our design and development team, you will be responsible for designing and executing substation physical projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop substation physical projects, including one-line drawings, three-line drawings, plan-section drawings, foundation, and grounding drawings.
  • Perform quality control checks on substation physical design projects to ensure compliance with client standards and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to meet project needs and ensure successful project execution.
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge and skills in substation physical design, including grounding studies, lightning protection, and lighting studies.
  • Participate in project meetings and site visits to ensure project progress and quality.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in substation physical design and development.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other technical tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Engineer Intern (EI) certification.
  • Experience with bus calculation and WinIGS or CDEGS software.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
