Job Title: Refrigeration Mechanic
Job Summary:

The Arizona State Government is looking to hire a meticulous HVAC technician to routinely perform general electrical, plumbing, and maintenance tasks related to the repair, service, or installation of cooling and refrigeration systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and kitchen equipment repairs related to cooling and refrigeration systems.
2. Diagnose issues or malfunctions in equipment.
3. Plan and schedule maintenance projects, including material pricing, equipment needs, and timelines.
4. Inspect and evaluate the performance of inmate workers.
5. Maintain and account for tools and equipment as required.
6. Keep records and complete documentation as per policy.
7. Drive on State business as necessary.
8. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of: Operating principles of various cooling, refrigeration, and ventilation systems.
Skills in: Reading and interpreting technical sketches and schematics, estimating costs, and maintaining records.
Ability to: Build and maintain interpersonal relationships, adhere to departmental policies, adapt to changing priorities, and work in a correctional environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Four years of journey-level experience in inspecting, servicing, repairing, and installing cooling and refrigeration systems.
2. Any combination of training and experience that meets the knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
HVAC certification is required at the time of appointment. Employment is contingent upon passing a background investigation, drug test, and medical examination.
All employees must complete a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their orientation and annually thereafter.
