Job Summary

Crown Cork & Seal USA, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Treatment Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our wastewater treatment systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain Wastewater Systems: Ensure the proper functioning of our wastewater treatment systems, including monitoring and adjusting chemical levels, water flow rates, and other process parameters.
  • Perform Chemical Analysis: Conduct regular chemical analysis of wastewater samples to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and optimal treatment performance.
  • Scrape Sludge and Clear Jams: Regularly scrape sludge from filter presses and clear jams in washers to maintain system efficiency.
  • Use Chemicals and Equipment: Use sulfuric acid, lime, and other chemicals to treat wastewater, and operate equipment such as forklifts and drying ovens.
  • Record and Report Data: Accurately record and report data on system performance, chemical usage, and other relevant metrics.
Requirements
  • Training and Certifications: Obtain a training wastewater license and a D-level license within 2 years of employment.
  • Computer Skills: Possess strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 10 pounds, with specific vision requirements.
  • Working Conditions: Work in a plant environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, vehicular traffic, and frequent loud noise levels.
