Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Special Procedures Technologist 2 to join our team at the University of Miami UHealth System, Department of Radiology. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations and complex procedures in Interventional Radiology, utilizing radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images with minimal radiation exposure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the operation of radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
  • Coordinate and manage scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental procedures
  • Supervise and perform diagnostic imaging studies under the direction of a radiologist
  • Assist with the education and training of new physicians and technologists
  • Participate in research initiatives and develop new protocols and ultrasound imaging techniques
  • Act as a team leader and monitor charging of ultrasound procedures and supplies
  • Provide in-service classes and demonstrate ultrasound equipment for site visits
  • Obtain and examine orders for Interventional Radiology exams and ensure accuracy
  • Verify patient identity and obtain necessary consents and education
  • Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of radiology scanners and related equipment
  • Maintain proper aseptic technique and adhere to Interventional Radiology protocols
  • Assist radiologists with invasive procedures and evaluate Interventional Radiologic scans for technical quality
  • Charge procedures and supplies and maintain accurate patient records
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology/Diagnostic Imaging Program
  • Valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer
  • ARRT registered and certified in Vascular Interventional Radiography
  • CPR and BLS certification
  • Three years of relevant experience required
