Radiation Therapist

Job Summary

As a Radiation Therapist at Riverside Health System, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care in our Radiation Oncology department. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply ionizing radiation in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from radiation oncologists, performing standard radiation treatment procedures, including 3D, IMRT/VMAT, and image-guided treatment delivery.
• Check prescriptions and plans for accuracy prior to treatment, ensuring all required QA has been performed and reviewed, and verifying completion and accuracy of consent.
• Perform timeout procedures prior to all treatments, using tattoos and setup marks appropriately and consistently, and verifying and documenting isocenter prior to treatment.
• Collaborate with MDs, physicists, and fellow team members to ensure accurate treatment, and demonstrate knowledge of conventional radiation techniques, including CBCT, IGRT, and IMRT/VMAT.
• Utilize custom immobilization devices specific to each patient, and ensure all information for patient treatment is documented and communicated appropriately for handoff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Radiation Therapy (preferred)
• 1 year of clinical experience or radiation therapy program experience caring for cancer patients, operating a linear accelerator, and CT simulator (preferred)
• RTT Level 1: Cone Beam CT (CBCT), Intensity Modulated Radiation therapy (IMRT), Volumetric arc therapy (VMAT)
• Radiation Therapist - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiation Therapy license (ARRT) (T) - Upon Hire (required)
• CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) - Upon Hire (required)
