Key Responsibilities

  • Provide project engineering support to all process areas of the plant facilities, ensuring seamless integration of automation systems.
  • Assist in identifying, evaluating, and selecting the necessary hardware and software to meet current and future manufacturing requirements, aligning with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Manage the controls and automation interface, testing, quality control, data retrieval, and training for all packaging and processing equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Determine the effectiveness and maintainability of new automation systems and manage the automation change process for existing equipment, minimizing downtime and optimizing production efficiency.
  • Support and promote the company's food safety and quality program initiatives within the plant environment, ensuring a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.


Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, with 2-4 years of experience in automation systems engineering.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, such as Allen-Bradley PLC-5, SLC-500, MicroLogix, and ControlLogix, as well as experience with industrial communication networks, including Ethernet, Allen-Bradley Remote I/O, and DeviceNet.
  • Strong knowledge of SCADA system programming, including GE Proficy, iFix, and other relevant software.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's), and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD's), as well as perform PID Loop tuning and implement instrument calibration procedures.
  • General knowledge of the National Electrical Code and industry standards, such as OSHA and FDA regulations.
