ROLE PURPOSE:

The Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing nursing services provided to residents. This role includes delivering direct care, administering treatments and medications, and organizing daily assignments for direct care staff based on each resident's comprehensive assessment and care plan.

The RN Supervisor will supervise direct care staff and make informed decisions regarding resident care needs in accordance with facility policies and procedures.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Demonstrate knowledge of geriatric and chronic care nursing principles and apply them to specific resident needs.

- Conduct daily compliance rounds on units to observe and assess residents, verify information from shifts, monitor regulatory compliance, determine staff assignments, and exchange reports.

- Ensure the delivery of care and services meets resident needs, and that tasks are completed with acceptable quality and quantity.

- Exhibit competency in clinical skills relevant to the facility's resident population.

- Collect and analyze data regarding the physical, behavioral, and functional abilities of long-term care residents.

- Understand and interpret laws and regulations affecting care provision in nursing facilities.

- Effectively communicate and implement facility policies and procedures to direct care staff.

- Utilize strong organizational and interpersonal skills to assign tasks, motivate staff, and enhance care quality while interacting positively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

- Uphold the facility's mission and philosophy in all duties performed.

- Respect the rights, dignity, and individuality of each resident in all interactions.

- Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information.

- Exhibit honesty and integrity in the care and management of resident and facility property.

- Assume accountability for nursing services delivered to residents, including direct care, treatment administration, and staff assignment organization.

- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum of one year in long-term care nursing management.

- Valid NJ Registered Nurse (RN) License.
