Job Description: PD Speech Pathologist, Speech Therapy

We are seeking a skilled Dysphagia Speech Pathologist to join our team at RWJ Rahway Hospital. As a Speech Pathologist with RWJBarnabas Health, you will provide treatment to inpatients and outpatients with a diagnosis of stroke, aphasia, and dysphagia as needed, as well as patients in our LTAC, Kindred Hospital.

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating patients on the initial visit, at regularly scheduled intervals, and at discharge using standardized tests and measurements and direct observation
  • Formulating objective treatment goals and plans to achieve goals
  • Modifying goals and plans as needed
  • Providing medically prescribed treatments for patients in acute care, Kindred hospital, and outpatients
  • Completing written or computerized documentation in the medical record as pertains to the patient's status
  • Completing other forms and letters as required
  • Participating in interdisciplinary team conferences, patient and family meetings, and other committees and meetings as assigned
  • Maintaining knowledge of current laws and standards of practice as relates to speech language pathology
  • Participating in educational activities, including student supervision and provision of education in areas of expertise or interest
  • Contributing to hospital and community education within the scope of knowledge as requested

Requirements:

  • Master s degree in Speech/Language Pathology from an accredited college or university
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
  • Licensed by the State of New Jersey
