Membership Ambassador

This role supports the mission of the YMCA of Greater San Antonio by fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for members and guests. The Membership Representative is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, promoting memberships and programs, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.

• Respond to member and guest needs in a timely and professional manner.
• Promote memberships and programs to increase engagement and retention.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lobby area, ensuring a positive first impression for visitors.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers and members, connecting them with one another and the Y.
• Provide administrative support to the membership desk, including accurately inputting new memberships and resolving membership concerns.
• Stay informed of all branch activities and schedules to provide exceptional member service.
• Accept donations and process end-of-shift controls for review and audit.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 6 months customer service, sales, or related experience preferred.
• Certifications in Redwoods Bloodborne Pathogens and Hazardous Communications required within the first week of hire.
• Certifications in YMCA-approved basic life-saving skills, such as CPR, First Aid, AED, and Emergency Oxygen, required within the first 60 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ActiveNet required within 30 days of hire.

This role is performed in a fast-paced office environment, requiring the ability to multitask, analyze problems, and recommend solutions. The employee must be able to stand for long periods, use keyboards and writing utensils, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
