Telemetry Technician

We are seeking a skilled Telemetry Technician to join our team at Stony Brook Medicine. As a valuable member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for monitoring patients, entering data into the telemonitoring system, and communicating with nurses and physicians regarding any changes in patient condition.

• Observe cardiac monitoring tracings of patients on the telemetry and/or computerized monitoring system/remote telemetry units.
• Describe characteristics of ECG rhythm and document rhythm according to policy and procedure.
• Provide rhythm strips to RNs for interpretation and mounting on patient charts.
• Maintain monitor logs with rhythm interpretation and parameter changes.
• Communicate significant rate/rhythm changes to RNs and charge nurses.
• Maintain optimal operation of monitoring equipment and clean cardiac monitoring equipment according to Infection Control and Biomedical engineering standards.

• High school diploma/GED
• EMT/CC or Telemetry certification, LPN, or RN
• One year of EMT/CC or Monitor Tech experience and one year of healthcare experience (preferred)
