Position Summary:
Floor Maintenance Specialists are responsible for evaluating the condition of various floor types and implementing suitable methods for their upkeep and preservation. The role primarily involves operating a range of machinery designed for floor maintenance tasks. Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods while managing different equipment and possess a valid driver's license.
Successful candidates will need to pass a thorough Background Investigation by the Department of Homeland Security.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant experience is required, along with the ability to operate all necessary equipment associated with the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate floor conditions and develop cleaning, buffing, or refinishing strategies.
- Dust, mop, burnish, and refinish surfaces in offices, hallways, and stairways following established maintenance protocols.
- Conduct preventative maintenance checks on all floor care equipment and tools before use.
- Operate floor care machinery such as automatic scrubbers, floor machines, and dry vacuums.
- Provide guidance to team members, including floor care apprentices and general cleaners, ensuring all cleaning and maintenance tasks meet established standards.
- Tag equipment and tools for major repairs and maintenance, keeping supervisors informed.
- Manage inventory duties, including ordering and maintaining sufficient supplies of cleaning products and equipment.
- Execute advanced cleaning procedures on carpeted areas and assist in the cleaning and sanitizing of installed carpets.
- Handle trash collection and disposal tasks.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager/Supervisor.
- Obtain and maintain any required security clearance.
- Adhere to the Drug-Free Workplace policy and comply with Operations Security standard operating procedures.
