Job Summary: Geisinger Lewistown Hospital is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their Internal Medicine team. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients.

Responsibilities:

* Assess and establish a presumptive diagnosis and implement treatment plans for patients

* Make accurate and complete entries into the electronic medical record

* Order and interpret diagnostic testing and consult as appropriate

* Prescribe appropriate medical therapy utilizing evidence-based practice

* Evaluate and report to collaborating physician any circumstances or approaches to medical management or test results that present a significant risk to patient's health or well-being

* Perform procedures within the scope of practice of the physician assistant license

* Communicate with collaborative physician, patient, PCP and referring staff through telephone or other means of correspondence

* Instill confidence in patient acting as their advocate by providing safe, ethical care and health education to the patient and their family in a language that they can understand

* Interpret and follow policies and guidelines to define procedures and meet goals and deadlines

Requirements:

* Master's Degree-Physician Assistant (Required)

* Certification(s) and License(s) Certified Physician Assistant - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA); Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body
