Job Overview

Harmonium Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Manager to support the agency's financial health and long-term growth. This senior-level position is responsible for the budgeting process, cash management, and strategic financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage service area budgets and annual agency budget
  • Supervise, train, evaluate, and provide support to Fiscal Team Staff
  • Prepare and conduct monthly budget reviews
  • Manage audits and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines
  • Analyze financial risks and benefits on business initiatives
  • Explore, analyze, and report on new local, state, and national funding opportunities
  • Ensure all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, audit reports for government agencies and foundations are prepared in accordance with agency contracts, state, and federal guidelines and accounting standards
  • Responsible for grants management as it relates to compliance and reporting of government, corporate, and foundation grants
  • Provide financial information that contributes to executive-level documents reflective of higher-order thinking, including but not limited to financial reports and Board and Executive reports
  • Provide analysis and recommendations of fiscal information
  • Develop and manage new grant/contract budgets for Request for Proposals to funders
  • Manage current contract and grant bills, invoices, and reimbursements
  • Manage and provide ongoing training for managers on financial issues impacting program budgets and implement improvements on a continuous basis
  • Provide support to the Board and Board Fiscal Committee to ensure financial transparency and communicate key financial goals and priorities

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in economics, business administration, accounting, or finance is required
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a business or financial setting, as well as experience managing a team
  • Demonstrated experience with multi-segment fund accounting software, QuickBooks accounting software experience preferred
  • Experience coordinating audit activities and reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and payroll taxes
  • Experience in grant management as it relates to compliance and reporting of government, corporate, and foundation grants is essential
  • Experience with principles and practices of project management
  • Experience in working with nonprofit organizational accounting practices is essential

Compensation:

  • Starting Salary: $116,225.28 - $150,077.46 annually (all new hires begin at starting salary regardless of experience)
  • Full-time benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, and critical illness coverage, along with additional voluntary options. We also offer a 403(b) Retirement Plan with a matching contribution of up to 2%, depending on years of service. Time off accrual for this position includes 8 hours of sick time per month and 13.33 hours of vacation per month for the first three years, increasing to 16.67 hours per month thereafter.
