This role acts as a vital link, providing support to pharmacy personnel, technicians, and hospital staff in the care of patients receiving cancer treatment.


Key Responsibilities:

Pharmaceutical Care Duties:
- Conducts rounds with the healthcare team to deliver pharmaceutical care aimed at achieving optimal therapeutic results.
- Reviews patient medication profiles to ensure appropriate drug selection, dosage, administration route, and frequency.
- Identifies and resolves existing drug-related issues while developing strategies to prevent potential problems.
- Oversees all aspects of pharmaceutical care provided to patients.
- Enhances systems and processes to guarantee the safe, precise, and timely delivery of pharmaceutical services.
- Educates pharmacists through training programs to improve knowledge of pharmacotherapy and patient monitoring.

- Manages human resources within the program to fulfill talent requirements, including recruitment, scheduling, performance assessments, and professional development opportunities.

- Performs additional duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Required:
Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy; possession of an advanced degree in Pharmacy and/or completion of a residency in a hospital pharmacy accredited by the American Society of Health.

EXPERIENCE:

Required:
A minimum of three years of experience as a pharmacy technician OR three years of experience in prior authorization and/or copay assistance programs OR a combination of three years in pharmacy technician and prior authorization/capay assistance roles.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Required:
Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) must be obtained within one year of employment; Current pharmacy license in North Carolina, or eligibility to secure a North Carolina pharmacy license within two months of employment.
