Position Summary

The Clinical Integration Engineer will be responsible for the tailored installation, upkeep, and support of our Operating Room (OR) Integration and Ceiling-Mounted Image Guided-Surgery product lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct customized installations to ensure the operational efficiency of OR Integration and Ceiling-Mounted Image Guided-Surgery products, which includes tasks such as cable management (both fiber and non-fiber), hardware assembly, and comprehensive testing for compatibility based on project specifications.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on OR Integration and Ceiling-Mounted Image Guided-Surgery products.
  • Utilize expertise in Healthcare Data Management, HIPAA compliance, VNA/HIS/PACS Integration, IHE, DICOM, HL7, and video routing to support product functionality.
  • Work with various medical and integrated components, including computer workstations, servers, virtual environments, video encoders/decoders, audio equipment, and network infrastructure.
  • Interpret site planning documents and blueprints that outline infrastructure needs, audio/visual system designs, and wiring schematics.
  • Diagnose and resolve product-related issues through analytical thinking and engineering troubleshooting skills.
  • Communicate effectively with project management, sales, marketing, and clinical end-users to address complex challenges and provide solutions.
  • Train team members and clinical end-users on the maintenance of OR Integration and Ceiling-Mounted Image Guided-Surgery equipment.
  • Maintain high standards of communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in Brainlab's offerings and competitive products through ongoing training and research.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or IT Technology is required. Candidates without a four-year degree must possess a minimum of four years of relevant installation experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting as well as independently, achieving results with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in computer systems and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Adaptable to the technical and logistical demands of a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to perform under pressure in construction settings.
  • Experience with test equipment and hand tools, including oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Professional demeanor with a confident approach to responsibilities.
  • Proactive in contributing to organizational goals.
  • Preferred knowledge of OR Integration technology and computer networking.
  • Comfortable with software and technology in general.
  • Ability to work safely in confined spaces and handle high-voltage equipment.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% and occasionally work nights and weekends.
