Clinical Educator Role

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital seeks a skilled Clinical Educator to support our Medical Surgical, Neuro, and Epilepsy Monitoring Units.

About the Position

This vital role involves leading initiatives to enhance nursing excellence, providing hands-on mentorship, and contributing to the development of our dynamic and dedicated nursing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acknowledge learning gaps within the nursing teams and implement targeted educational programs.
  • Develop and evaluate orientation sessions, continuing education opportunities, and specialty fellowship programs.
  • Mentor staff to excel in their clinical practice, support certification efforts, and foster professional growth.
  • Promote evidence-based practices, quality improvement, and research into the practice environment.
  • Offer guidance and consultation for nursing students and multidisciplinary team members.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN required; MSN in Nursing Education or related field preferred).
  • Current D.C. RN license and Nurse Educator certification (or ability to obtain within one year).
  • Clinical experience and/or education background (Medical/Surgical, Neuro, or Epilepsy Monitoring preferred).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills with expertise in designing educational programs.
