Job Summary

Holding Tba is seeking a highly qualified English as Second Language Instructor to join our team. As an ESL Teacher, you will be responsible for promoting the mental, physical, emotional, and social growth of students assigned to your care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction
    • Develop and implement effective lesson plans to meet the needs of students with varying skill levels and learning styles.
    • Use a variety of instructional materials and techniques to engage students and promote student achievement.
  • Classroom Management
    • Establish a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes student learning and well-being.
    • Develop and implement effective classroom management techniques to minimize disruptions and maximize student engagement.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school personnel to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs.
  • Assessment and Evaluation
    • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of individual students.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of instructional programs and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Certification
    • Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate.
  • Experience
    • At least 2 years of experience teaching English as a Second Language.
Working Conditions

The ESL Teacher will work in a school setting, adhering to School Board energy policy and in outside areas subject to climate extremes.

Equipment Used
  • Telephone, audio-visual equipment, classroom computer, copy machine, laminator, calculator, and other appropriate machines.
Physical and Mental Demands
  • Standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting 10 pounds is sometimes required.
  • Must be able to operate classroom equipment.
  • Must be able to physically transfer, restrain, or position special education students as required.
Human Relations
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with students, parents, and school personnel.
  • Must be able to respond positively to supervision and accept suggestions for improvement.
