Job Title: Advanced Emergency Medical Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) to join our team at AMR. As an AEMT, you will provide direct patient care in accordance with company protocols and online medical direction. You will assist with the coverage of open shifts as needed in the assigned area and administer first aid treatment to and transport sick or injured persons to a medical facility.
Responsibilities:
* Respond to instructions from emergency medical dispatchers and drive specially equipped emergency vehicles to specified locations.
* Monitor communication equipment to maintain contact with dispatchers.
* Remove or assist in the removal of victims from the scene of an accident or catastrophe.
* Determine the nature and extent of an illness or injury and the magnitude of a catastrophe to establish first aid procedures to be followed or the need for additional assistance.
* Administer prescribed first aid treatment at the site of an emergency or in a specially equipped vehicle.
* Communicate with professional medical personnel at an emergency treatment facility to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and to arrange for the reception of victims at the treatment facility.
* Assist in the removal of victims from vehicles and transfer victims to treatment centers.
* Assist treatment center admitting personnel to obtain and record information related to victims' vital statistics and circumstances of an emergency.
* Maintain vehicles and medical and communication equipment and replenish first aid equipment and supplies.
* Assist professional medical personnel in emergency treatment administered at medical facilities.
* Document complete, thorough, and accurate Pre-hospital Care Reports and billing forms.
Other Responsibilities:
* Participate in community programs to maintain AMR's image and establish strong community relations.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
* Kansas Advanced EMT Certification or Kansas Eligible
* Infection Control Certificate
* CPR certification
* NREMT certification preferred
* State Driver's License
* Driving record compliant with company policy
* Pass Physical Ability Test (PAT)
