Position Summary:

The Service and Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in identifying and resolving mechanical issues related to diesel engines, overhead cranes, hoists, and elevators.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of Lever/Hand Chain hoists, fall protection equipment, and rigging to ensure adherence to safety and compliance standards set by manufacturers, OSHA, and ANSI. Stay informed on relevant regulations.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, estimate, repair, and perform proof load testing on equipment.
  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks efficiently.
  • Assess and recommend necessary repairs based on evaluations.
  • Manage existing accounts by analyzing work orders, planning daily schedules, and prioritizing tasks.
  • Document all service and installation activities through forms, reports, and checklists, both manual and digital.
  • Enhance customer trust by ensuring timely responses, communicating issues to sales, and completing jobs efficiently.
  • Maintain all company tools and equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and certifications, including vehicles, forklifts, and operating machinery.
  • Oversee inventory levels of stock items to ensure availability.
  • Prepare and formalize proposals for replacement and repair opportunities, forwarding them to the Service Branch Manager for further action.
  • Keep training credentials current, with sponsorship provided by the company.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and troubleshoot 460 vac 3 phase electrical motors and control circuitry.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Possession of electricians' hand tools, a quality electrical test meter, and steel-toed boots.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean record and currently possess or be able to secure a valid TWIC card.
  • Technical Education Certification is preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical examination, and background check (including MVR).
Work Environment:
  • Ability to work effectively outdoors with regular exposure to varying temperatures.
  • Comfortable working from elevated positions to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites or other branches as needed to ensure customer satisfaction and safety.
